One of the most important Hindu festivities is Diwali, celebrated with tremendous energy and joy. This celebration is popular among children since it provides a lot of joy and excitement for everyone. They get to see their family, friends, and relatives and exchange greetings and presents. “Diwali,” also known as “Deepavali,” is one of the most auspicious holidays for Hindus living in India or throughout the world. This celebration is highly awaited and celebrated by people all around the world. Although it is a Hindu holiday, people from all walks of come together to celebrate with crackers and fireworks.

Diwali is held in honor of Lord Ramchandra because it was on this day that Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after a 14-year exile. Diwali commemorates Lord Ram’s homecoming to his hometown of Ayodhya. Due to past occurrences, Lord Ram’s father, Dashrath, was forced to promise his stepmother Kayekayi that Ram would be exiled for 14 years. To preserve the meaning of his father’s words, he resolves to abandon the regal life of the Palace and spend the next 14 years in the wilderness, away from Kingdom concerns. He was joined by his lovely wife Sita and his submissive younger brother Laxman. After 14 years in exile, they will return home in 20 days. The people of Ayodhya lit Diyas and distributed sweets to commemorate the homecoming of their true monarch, Lord Ram. Since then, the day has been known as Diwali. During his banishment, he fought demons and the mighty ruler of Lanka, Ravana, the demon king. When Rama returned, the inhabitants of Ayodhya welcomed him and celebrated his triumph by lighting Diyas. Diwali has since been celebrated to commemorate the triumph of good over evil. It is a celebration of pleasure and happiness in India. People light up their houses and businesses, prepare great food, give gifts, and spread joy. Diwali is celebrated as the first day of the fiscal year in India. On this festival day, courtyards adorn colorful rangoli, and lamps are placed atop the rangoli.

Hindus honor Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day as merchants open fresh account books on Diwali. Furthermore, they think this lovely celebration offers everyone fortune, prosperity, and success. During the celebration, people also buy new outfits and look forward to sharing gifts with their family, friends, and relatives. Some of the most notable aspects of this celebration are the distribution of sweets and the exchange of presents. Children want to celebrate this day by exploding crackers, but this should be done in moderation because that is not what Diwali is about. Diwali is about joy, wealth, celebration, humanity, and peace.

However, the eroding spirit of the holiday must be recovered by saying no to crackers and working for an eco-friendly carnival. The true essence of Diwali is found in festivals, the warmth of connections, and enlightenment. With Diwali, the season shifts, and, perhaps, the illogical loses its hold on society.
