Put the Glass Down -Life Lesson Book for Kids

A professor started his class by holding up a glass filled with water.

He showed it to the students and asked, “How much do you think this glass weighs?”

“40 grams!” one student shouted. “110 grams!” another said. “120 grams!”

The professor smiled and said, “I’m not sure how much it weighs unless I weigh it.

But my question is: What would happen if I held this glass up like this for a few minutes?”

“Nothing,” the students replied.

The professor then asked, “What if I held it up for an hour?”

A student answered, “Your arm would start to ache.”

“That’s right! Now, what if I held it for a whole day?”

Another student said, “Your arm might go numb, and you could hurt yourself!”

The class laughed at the thought.

“Exactly! But during all this time, did the weight of the glass change?” The professor asked.

“No,” the students answered.

“So what caused the arm ache and muscle pain?”

The students looked puzzled. “Put the glass down!” one student suggested.

“Exactly!” said the professor. “Life’s problems are just like this glass.

If you hold them for a short time, they don’t bother you.

But if you think about them for a long time, they start to hurt.

If you hold on to them too long, they can feel so heavy that you can’t do anything at all.”

“It’s important to think about the challenges you face, but it’s even more important to have faith and to ‘put them down’ at the end of each day.

This way, you won’t feel stressed, and you can wake up fresh and ready to handle whatever comes your way!”

So, when it’s time to leave work today, remember to “PUT THE GLASS DOWN.” Trust in God and find peace.

Worrying too much can make life difficult. Good luck!

“Put the Glass Down” lesson reminds us that holding onto stress only makes it heavier with time. Just like a glass of water feels heavier the longer we hold it, our worries grow if we don’t let go. Sometimes, peace comes from simply putting the glass down.
