The Foolish Donkey And The Wise Jackal - Moral Story Book

Once upon a time, in a village, there lived a donkey named Garvi.

During the day, he dutifully carried clothes and other loads for his master.

At night, Garvi would trespass into the fields outside the village.

He returns home early in the morning due to fear of attack by the farm owners.

One night while roaming in the fields he met a jackal.

Both of them started meeting every night and enjoying fruits and vegetables from the nearby fields.

At dawn, they would return home completely satisfied.

One night, when both of them were walking happily, Garvi said to the jackal, “Friend, just look at that tree! It is full of delicious fruits!

Come, let us go there and enjoy those delicious fruits. ” The jackal agreed on the condition that Garvi would remain silent.

Both of them entered the garden and started eating fruits to their heart’s content.

Garvey said, “How happy I am today! Moonlit nights and good food, what more do you need in life?

Look how bright the night is, how clear the weather is, I feel like singing. Now tell me which song should I sing?”

The jackal said, “Dear uncle, why do you want to create trouble?

We are engaged in the work of theft. There is a saying that thieves and lovers should do their work quietly.”

Garvi said, “Oh, it’s not an issue! I can sing for you”

Before the jackal could stop Garvi, he forgot his surroundings and started singing loudly.

Alas! A watchman of the farm woke up and rushed towards Garvi and started beating him until he fell on the ground.

The jackal, who had hidden upon hearing the watchman’s footsteps, escaped into the forest.

Moral: THINK BEFORE YOU ACT; HEED WARNINGS TO AVOID UNNECESSARY CONSEQUENCES AND TROUBLE.

In the end, the foolish donkey paid the price for ignoring wise advice, while the clever jackal saved himself with quick thinking. This tale reminds us that wisdom and caution often lead to safety, while stubbornness and carelessness can lead to trouble. Always think before you act or speak.
