“The Scrooge Father” tells the story of a man whose heart is ruled by money more than love. Focused only on saving every penny, he forgets the true joy of giving and bonding with his family. This tale reminds us that wealth means little without warmth, kindness, and connection.

The Miser Father and Lord Buddha – Moral Story for Kids
Read More: Paragraph on ‘Kindness’

Once upon a time, there lived a sixteen-year-old boy named Anuj.
He was suffering for a long time with jaundice.
But his father was a miser who refused to take him to a doctor.
He didn’t want to spend any money on his treatment.
Slowly, Anuj grew even sicker and was bedridden.
But the father was not at all concerned with it.
He turned a blind eye to his son’s condition.
Lord Buddha saw this and felt sympathetic towards the son.
He sat beside the boy on the bed.
And there, he started narrating his teaching.
His calm words consoled the boy’s suffering mind.
Slowly, the boy died with Buddha sitting next to him.
The death of his son struck the father gravely.
And at the funeral, he sat next to his son’s funeral pyre and started wailing.
At this sight, the emperor of the gods, Sakka, appeared in front of him.
He told him that how his miserly behaviour and irresponsibility caused the death of his son.
Listening to this, the father realised his mistake and decided never to act in that manner again.
And he devoted his life to Buddha and his teachings to repent his sins.
Moral: Greed brings sorrow, but kindness leads to peace.
