The people of the stone age period lived in caves. More precisely, they used to take shelter in caves in dire situations such as for protection against the harsh weather or wild animals. The people of the stone age were nomads – they were not habituated with living in one place for extended periods of time. Instead, they used to move around, hunt for food and sustenance and move on to the next place when the resources of that particular area had been depleted.
