In a small town, there lived two peddlers who sold pearl trinkets. One was honest, while the other was a dishonest crook.

The girl replied, “But that man was mean. I think this one will take it.”

The grandmother agreed and invited the honest peddler inside. When he saw the bowl, he instantly recognized its true value.

He then told the grandmother, “This bowl is worth thousands of rupees!

I can’t take it for my beads; my entire stock isn’t worth as much.”

Surprised, the grandmother explained, “Another peddler said it was worthless and even got angry, but you seem kind.

In a fit of rage, he threw down his goods, ripped off his shirt, and ran toward the river, where he slipped and drowned.

Honest peddler returns home happily after fair deal
