Story: The Cock and The Jewel

A cock was very hungry. He went in search of food. He began to scrape the ground in search of grains for his food. He found a jewel buried in the ground. The jewel was quite expensive and big.

The cock was surprised to see it. He picked up the jewel and said to himself, “How beautiful it is! It will be very valuable. The whole world would like to have it.” After a while he started thinking, “I am hungry and I need to eat. What will I do with this jewelry? Now a grain will be more valuable to me than a jewel. This jewel is useless to me right now.”

He left the jewel there and went somewhere else to dig the ground. In fact, something can be valuable to you only if it is useful to you.
