Staying Calm Under Pressure – Moral Story Book

Once, there was a young boy who struggled to manage his anger.
Whenever he got angry, he would say hurtful things without thinking about how it would affect others.
One day, his father decided to help him with his anger issue.
He gave the boy a hammer and a bundle of nails.
He told him, “Whenever you feel angry, go out to the backyard and hammer a nail into the fence.”
In the beginning, the boy would get angry often and hammer many nails into the fence.
But as time passed, he started to get angry less frequently, and he used fewer nails.
After some weeks, his temper was much better.
His father introduced a new challenge.
He asked the boy to remove one nail from the fence for every day he stayed calm.
As the days passed, the boy removed nails one by one, reflecting his improved temper.
Finally, the day came when he removed the very last nail from the fence.
His father congratulated him, saying, “You’ve done well, but notice the holes left in the fence?
It will never be the same. Just like when you say mean things in anger, it leaves a scar on others.”
The boy realized the valuable lesson his father was teaching him.
He realized that his words could hurt others, just like the nails had left marks on the fence.
Moral: Anger is like a knife — one of the most dangerous weapons. When you use it, the wounds will heal, but the scars remain.
Controlling anger helps us think clearly, speak kindly, and act wisely. When we stay calm, we make better choices and avoid hurting others or ourselves. It takes patience and practice, but learning to control anger brings peace to our minds, relationships, and daily life. Peace begins with self-control.
