Once upon a time, there was a little sparrow who was flying back home after a long day.
Unfortunately, she lost her way.
The sky was dark with roaring clouds, and strong winds began to blow.
The poor little bird didn’t know what to do. Thankfully, she spotted a big tree nearby and decided to seek shelter there.
But as soon as she landed on the tree, a group of crows started making loud cawing sounds.
They shouted at her, “Find another place to stay!” “This is our tree, go away!”
The little sparrow pleaded, “Please, let me stay here for a while.
It’s going to rain soon, and I have nowhere else to go. Please, just until the rain stops!”
“But the mean and selfish crow refused to help and said, It’s not our problem!” This tree belongs to us, and we don’t want you here!”
Feeling sad, the sparrow flew away.
Luckily, she found another tree not too far away.
On the trunk of that tree, there was a big hole. The sparrow happily settled inside the hole.
Soon, large drops of rain as well as hail started falling from the sky.
The hailstones struck the crows one by one, leaving some injured and others even losing their lives.
But here’s the amazing part: The little sparrow remained untouched by both the hail and the rain.
After the rain stopped, she came out of the hole.
The crows were astonished to see her unharmed. They asked her, “How did you manage to escape from the hail?”
With a smile, the sparrow replied, “God helps those who are helpless and leaves the selfish to suffer.”
The crows learned a valuable lesson that day.
