In this exercise, we have to round a number to its nearest thousand. Above, there are a total of sixteen queries that need to be solved. To solve this exercise, kids have to follow some rules. The first one is to find out the thousand number from the given number and then check its right number; if the number is greater than 5, that means we have to perform a round-up or if the number is less than 5, that means we have to perform a round-down. Let’s take an example: 79,354. As per the rule, the thousand number is 9, now check its right number (3), which is less than 5, so we have to perform a round-down. So the final rounding number will be 79,350.
1. 24,074 – 24,070
2. 9,275 – 9,300
3. 1,365 – 1,000

This rounding concept will not only help kids in their studies but also help in their day-to-day life scenarios. Above, we have a total of sixteen quarries and we have to solve this by following the same rule that was done above. First, find out the thousand number and then check its right value. If the value is greater than 5, perform a round-up; otherwise, round down. It is a simple exercise, and we believe kids can perform this on their own.
1. 57,477 – 60,000
2. 12,837 – 13,000
3. 914,368 – 914,370
