Frogs lay their eggs in calm or still water.
These eggs float on the surface of the water.
Some of the eggs do not survive, but others hatch.
After some time, the baby frogs develop a tail.
They look like a fish.
They are called Tadpoles.
In the initial days, tadpoles feed on the yolk of the egg.
After a few days, the tadpole can swim and eat algae.
Gradually, the tadpole develops teeth to chew food.
As they grow, they shed their skin and develop back legs and jaws.
Then the tadpoles develop front legs and lungs, then it begin to look more like a frog and less like a fish.
Once tadpoles fully develop their legs, they become froglets. A froglet is a young frog
After a few weeks, the tail disappears completely. The hands and feet become stronger and longer.
And it becomes a fully-grown adult frog
Adult frogs live together in groups called colonies.
They mate and return to the water to lay their eggs.
This is how the next generation of frogs comes into existence.
