Identifying Nouns Worksheets for Grade 2

Every parent wants their kids to be fluent in the English language.  To do so, it is essential to be good at its grammar. A kid’s journey of learning grammar begins with learning the eight parts of speech. The parts of speech dictate how a word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within any sentence. Among the eight, the noun is the first part of the speech taught to kids.

The noun is the name of a place, person, animal, or thing. It names everything from a person, place, thing to a quality, feeling, or animal. It may also refer to any activity. In a sentence, a noun can play the role of subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, object complement, appositive, or adjective. There are several different types of nouns. A noun can be a common or generic noun,  proper noun, Abstract noun, or Collective noun.

The ‘Identifying Noun Worksheets’ consist of several exercises for students to identify nouns. In the following exercises, children have to identify the nouns given in the sheets in form of the images. They have to choose the correct noun, fill in the blanks, and color the correct box. For example; In the first one the image is that of a tree, hence students have to color the box adjacent to the word tree and fill up the blank space. Ask your student to write his name, section, date, and the teacher’s name before starting the task.
